Wishing Your Commercial Office Building Smelled A Little...Less Funky? Options That Help
Humans are one of the few creatures on the planet that avoid unpleasant odors. In fact, people are so hesitant to smell anything foul, stinky, or odorous that they will look for any and every way and product to cover the smell or destroy the smell. Buildings of larger sizes, particularly commercial office buildings, are often the most complicated of all places to "deodorize." If you have a commercial office building that frequently smells a little funky, here are some options that can help you change or cancel the smell(s) you do not like.
Commercial Air Duct Scent System
This gem of a product connects directly with your building's forced-air system. An undiluted scent of a much more pleasant nature is plugged into your forced air furnace/cooling system. At regular intervals, the scent system squirts its scent into the forced air that is being pushed into vents and circulated. The pleasant smell circulates throughout the entire building, leaving nothing but a nice fresh odor.
Commercial Atomizers and Vaporizers
These products are more often seen and used in restrooms. They contain a can of compressed, fragranced air that is loaded into the atomizer or vaporizer. The atomizer or vaporizer is on an internal timer that releases atomized/vaporized air freshener every five, ten, fifteen, twenty, or thirty minutes. You can certainly install and used these atomizers and vaporizers in other areas of the building besides the restrooms, but their one drawback is that they are loud and obvious wherever you put them. They are not a slow, quiet dispersal of fragrance like the air duct scent systems.
Wall Plug-ins
These can be used at home or in the office. The wall plug-ins contain either essential oils that have been scented or a hardened block of air freshener that releases scent when heated. Most people opt for the oil diffusers that plug into the wall. They are less obtrusive, have a wider range of scents from which to select, and many of the plug-in devices/diffusers are quite decorative. The hard block type is less attractive, often get in the way of people walking down halls, and/or require frequent replacement of the block cartridges. Another consideration in regards to the oil plug-in devices is that you have to be really careful with the oils not leaking or spilling out; they can cause slip and fall accidents if the leaks are large enough and the oils can ignite.
